The Mattes Correction Hunter Pad is a multifunctional, high-quality pad that can help you adjust the way a saddle fits on your horse. With the Mattes Correction System, you can maintain the balance and straightness of your saddle as your horse moves through the season or you can account for asymmetries in build. This pad has two pockets in front and two in back fit for Poly-Flex® shims which are included. These shims are 5mm thick, designed to be layered, and are easily trimmed with scissors. If multiple shims are necessary, you can taper their ends to create a pressure free fit. Poly-Flex is resilient, shock absorbing, doesn’t bottom out like foam or other materials, and allows incremental adjustments to be made easily. Premium quality sheepskin panels under the saddle area provide cushioning, moisture-wicking, and airflow. Spine Free® means that panels of sheepskin have a channel to avoid pressure on the horse’s spine. The bare, or unlined, flaps minimize bulk under the rider’s legs. Girth loops add security.
